An article on about a sonic black hole, and other faux singularities. Using a Bose-Einstein condensate, for instance, a group of Israeli physicists managed to create a space where sound cannot escape.
If we don’t have the technology to make real singularities, creating and studying these faux ones could be very interesting. And who, knows, perhaps, in time, there might be practical applications…
